Cause of Woodland Heights Fire Determined
Today, Larimer County Sheriff's Office investigators determined the Woodland Heights Fire was most likely caused by an electrical service line rubbing against a pine tree during turbulent winds. The electric line was on private property on Larkspur Drive. Investigators do not believe the fire to be criminal in nature nor the result of a criminal act. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Forest Service for their assistance in this investigation.
The Woodland Park fire is 100% contained with 27.3 acres burned. A total of 22 homes and 2 outbuildings were destroyed. Residents were allowed to return after 12:00 p.m. today.
