Civil process is one of the 7 statute mandated functions of the Office of the Sheriff. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office Civil Process Unit is responsible
for serving civil papers to Larimer County citizens. The unit is comprised of one Deputy, two office staff and two civilian servers. In 2004, the unit
received over 4000 papers for service and had an 85% successful service rate. The unit serves all types of civil papers including protection orders, executes
evictions, seizures, Sheriff's Sales and
court ordered civil stand-bys (a court order directing the Sheriff's Office to conduct a civil stand-by is
required).
The Civil Process Unit is located at the Sheriff's Building at 2501 Midpoint Dr., Fort Collins. This is on the east side of Fort
Collins near the intersection of Prospect and Timberline, 2 blocks east of Timberline and two blocks south of Prospect. Office business hours are from
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. A 24-hour voice mailbox is available at (970) 498-5155. Messages are checked during business hours.

Effective August 11, 2010, pursuant to Colorado State Statute 30-1-104 and
approved by the Larimer County Board of Commissioners, fees for service of

To have papers served:
Provide two copies of the document.
Service will be attempted with the information provided to the Department.
We ask that you provide as much information as possible so that the individual being served can be easily found.
Pertinent information should include:
- Date of birth
- Home address (A post office box is not adequate)
- Home, work and cell phone numbers
- Physical description of the person
- Place of employment
- Vehicle information (description, license plate number)
- A photo of the person (if possible)
