Larimer County Sheriff's Emergency Communications Center
The Larimer County Sheriff's Office Emergency Communications Center is an Enhanced 911(E911) telecommunications center for unincorporated Larimer County. The Center is responsible for dispatching:
  • Law Enforcement
  • Medical Quick Response Teams
  • Search and Rescue
  • Dive Rescue Teams
  • Volunteer Fire Departments
  • County and State Parks officers
  • Reserves
  • Posse
  • Air Life
  • Local DOW
  • Coroners

Law Enforcement Services: With the exception of the mountainous region, these areas are patrolled 24-hours by a Sheriff's Deputy. The E911 center is the focal point for receiving requests for public safety services from the public, entering the information into a computer, and then dispatching the case to the deputies assigned to the appropriate patrol area. The E911 center is also designated as the primary focal point for all information to and from the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and the Colorado Crime Information Center (CCIC).

Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD): All assigned emergency communications operators are qualified to provide lifesaving medical instructions to patients over the telephone until medical personnel arrive on scene. Emergency communicators are tested and qualified using Emergency Medical Dispatch procedures outlined by Medical Priority, Inc. The E911 center dispatches for five regional medical Quick Reaction Teams (QRT). QRT's are medically trained volunteers who respond and assist ambulance personnel in emergency and non-emergency situations. Medical QRT's are assigned throughout western Larimer County, usually in mountainous regions where response times by an ambulance alone is too great a risk to injured or sick persons. Volunteer Fire Departments: Larimer County is responsible for providing wildfire warning, response, and victim assistance for its residents and visitors within county jurisdiction.

Emergency Services: The Larimer County Sheriff's Office has the statutory obligation for wildfire suppression in unincorporated areas of the county. The E911 center dispatches all wildfire firefighters and equipment assigned to Larimer County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services. In addition, the E911 center dispatches for six regional volunteer fire departments. These volunteer fire departments, like the medical QRT's, are located in the western mountainous portion of Larimer County.
