Evidence and Property

This section is responsible for collecting and processing evidence that is being used in Sheriff's Office cases.

Any property that has been used as evidence will be stored at the Office until such time that it is no longer needed. Deputies and the District Attorney's office are responsible for returning property after the case has been resolved. Participants in cases will be kept informed on procedures for having property released.

This section is also responsible for storing property found by deputies or Office employees. Often times a deputy will discover something on patrol, pick it up and bring it to the Office. If you have lost something and it may have been found by a deputy, call the Office. Many items sit unclaimed for months because people do not think to call us.
